What this document is going to show you is how to add or map new fields into Feed Perfect after your channels are up and running. For example Google recently required brand in their feed so this document will show you how to add in an additional variables and assign them to Feed Perfect and your Comparison Shopping Engine.



When you are mapping there are going to be 2 major steps:

  • Mapping the data from your store to a Feed Perfect variable.

  • Then mapping a Feed Perfect variable to a specific Comparison Shopping Engine variable

This document will cover both Major steps:



Mapping the data to a Feed Perfect variable. :

  1. Make sure you have a variable in your Yahoo store, Solid Cactus eCommerce or CSV for the new data for want to map. This variable should have the data you need to get into the comparison shopping engine. Unless you use a CSV to populate your feed the data will automatically be in the data source.

  2. From the Import screen, click the Edit in the Mappings section of the page.

  3. Add a new mapping by selecting a "Your Store" property in the first box, selecting a Feed Perfect property in the middle box. and clicking the orange arrow between the second and third boxes.

  4. Once all changes are made click Save.

  5. Click Import Data to import and map your store.

    You have now mapped your data to a Feed Perfect variable



Mapping a Feed Perfect variable to a specific channel:

  1. Next go to your Channel tab, click on the Settings button and click edit next to the channel you want to update

  2. Go to the mappings tab

  3. Here you will see a Channel Fields column which list the variables that your comparison shopping engine will accept.

  4. You will also see 3 more column. Feed Perfect Field , Alternative Feed Perfect Field Default Value. These field in order of priority will tell you what Feed Perfect Variable is assigned to the Channel Fields.

  5. Click edit next under Status to assign the Feed Perfect variable to the Channel Field

  6. click OK

  7. When you are all done click SAVE at the bottom.

  8. You should now have assigned new variables to your channel
