Step 1 To setup your FeedPefect account with a Google Base account. You'll need to go to the Settings section of the Channel page. And click Activate next to the feed you'd like to use, in this case Google Product Search.
Step 2 If you already have a Google Base account and have it configured for use with FeedPerfect, click "Already Signed up? Get started!" and skip to Step 15. If you don't already have an account or need to configure it, click "No, I still need to sign up with this CSE".
Step 3 On the Google Product Search page click "Start A Data Feed."
Step 4 If you already have a Google Base account signin using your google account information to login and skip to Step 8. If you've never signed up with Google before click "Create an account now".
Step 5 After you've signed in, you're next task is to agree to the terms of service. To do that select your location and click Continue.
Step 6 Review the Terms and Service. At the bottom you'll find an accept button, click that to continue.
Step 7 After the Terms and Conditions you'll need to Configure your account. Fill out all basic information for your account. Required fields will say "(Required)" next to them.
Step 8 Next, you'll setup the datafeed and configure it for use with FeedPerfect.
Begin by selecting the country where your items will be shown. Then select the type of items in the data feed in this case you'll select Products. Once products is selected another drop down appears where you'll select the type of data feed you're registering (googlebase). Finally specify the filename. Type feedperfect.txt in this field. Click Register data feed.
Step 9 You'll then be brought to the Google Base dashboard where you're new data feed is listed. At the top in yellow you'll see the confirmation that your data feed has been registered.
Step 10 Once the feed is registered, you'll need to set up the FTP information. Click Setting at the top of the page.
Step 11 Then Click FTP Account information.
Step 12 You'll then be prompted to Create your FTP account information. You need to create a username and a password. The username can contain lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores only. Note: the username for your FTP account cannot be the same username for your Google account. Also, once your FTP information is created the username cannot be changed. The password can be anything you like but must contain both letters and numbers. Once these are both created click Save Changes.
Step 13 When your FTP information is saved you'll see a yellow confirmation message at the top of the page. This message will tell you the activation may take up to 15 minutes but this is really the minimum. It's possible for the activation to take up to 60 minutes.
Step 14 This completes your Google Base account setup. At this point you'll want to return to the New Channel activation screen in Feed Perfect. This time you'll click the "Already Signed up? Get Started!" button. Step 15 Channel Mappings will map the FeedPerfect properties to the fields Google Product Search offers. The required fields are marked with an asterisk (*) but it's recommended to map as many fields as possible as this can help your visibility in the CSE. To edit the current mappings simply click edit and fill out the correct information. Once all the fields are mapped to your satisfaction, click "Continue". Step 16 Publishing your products to the channel. It's usually recommended that you publish all product and then refine your submission through FeedPerfect system. Once you've made your decision click Continue. Step 17 FTP Information is the FTP information that was created within your Google Base account. Simply fill in the information you created and click Check FTP Info. If your FTP information is valid, you'll recieve a confirmation message in the lower left corner, and a continue button will appear. Click Continue to test your setup. | NOTE: Keep in mind the activation process with Google. If your account is still processing there, the FTP info won't validate. | Step 18 The Validation and test will check for error with the file. If there are errors you can click "Back" to make changes. If everything works out, click Publish to publish the file. Step 19 The last page of the setup wizard Congratulates you on a successful publish of your products. Clicking Finish will complete the wizard. Step 20 When the activation wizard is complete you should see the activate button disappear from the the Channel Settings page, and it will be replaced with edit, validate, publish, and deactivate. Step 21 Log back into Google Base and take a look at the My Items page. You should see the file process. This double checks that the file was submitted to Google. Processing times vary but may take as long as 24 hours to complete. Step 22 When The file is successfully uploaded to Google the Processing" status will change to "Success" and an expiration date will be listed for when the file is considered stale and will be removed for FeedPerfect.
